What's happening in PE?

Gymnastics Program Begins!

We are excited to have commenced our 5-week gymnastics program with Palmer's Gym and our fantastic instructor, Sally. Students have already participated in two engaging sessions- Wednesday 12 August and Thursday 20 August, where they have enthusiastically explored a variety of gymnastics activities and challenges.

Gymnastics provides students with opportunities to develop important skills such as balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, body awareness, perseverance, and confidence. It also encourages students to set goals, take on new challenges, and support one another in a positive learning environment.

We have been incredibly impressed by the enthusiasm and effort shown so far and look forward to seeing the progress and growth students make over the remaining three weeks.

Reminder for families:

Students should wear comfortable clothing that allows them to move freely during sessions. Please remember to tie your child's hair back if it's longer than their shoulders and remove any dangling earrings or jewellery. Gymnastic sessions are completed barefoot; however, students are welcome to wear grip socks if they prefer not to have bare feet.

Remember also to pack plenty to eat, along with a drink bottle as we head straight from gymnastics to pickleball and students will need to 'fuel-up' to have enough energy for the two back-to-back sessions!

Pickleball Program Underway!

Students have enthusiastically begun our 4-week pickleball program with our instructor, Brendon, enjoying their first session on Thursday 20 August. It was fantastic to see students eager to learn the fundamentals of this fast-growing sport while having fun and staying active.

Pickleball helps students develop a wide range of skills, including hand-eye coordination, balance, agility, teamwork, communication, strategic thinking, and resilience. It also encourages positive sportsmanship and confidence as students learn new techniques and challenge themselves in a supportive environment.
