Literacy:

"When given the choice between being right or being kind, choose kind", remains our precept for this unit. We have finished studying Wonder, what a beautiful film it has been and is full of meaning for the students to draw from. Students will complete their final assessment in the form of a Journal Entry from the perspective of one of the characters. I look forward to seeing the characters the students choose and how they will write the journal entry using the characteristics and emotions of their chosen character.

Maths

We have finished our Fractions unit - yay! The students have spent the past six weeks learning how to identify fractions, proper and improper fractions, converting between improper and mixed numbers, fractions of a collection, adding and subtracting fractions and decimals and how to use key words in a worded problem to assist them in solving the equation. Our next focus is Statistics and Probability.
