Admin Corner

Welcome back to another edition of the Admin Corner!

As Melbourne’s Winter settles in and the weather turns cold, wet and unpredictable, our school environment faces a few seasonal challenges. One such challenge is the condition of our school oval. While it is supported by approximately 600 metres of underground drainage, periods of heavily and prolonged rain can still leave the surface slippery and muddy, making outdoor play and activities a little messy for our learners. Even those with the best intensions.

A simple yet effective and often overlooked way to help your child stay comfortable, healthy and ready to learn during this time, is by providing them with a spare change of clothes. Having spare set of clothes at school can minimize disruptions to their learning and ensure students remain warm and dry throughout the day.

A spare set doesn’t have to be elaborate. We recommend including:

  • A t-shirt
  • Comfortable pants or leggings
  • Underwear and socks
  • A plastic or reusable bag for any wet or soiled clothing

To assist staff in returning misplaced items promptly, please ensure that all clothing and personal belongings are clearly labelled with your child’s full name.

If your child is missing any items, we encourage you to check our Lost Property Box, located near the school office.  At present, we have a large number of unclaimed windcheaters and zip front jackets waiting to be reunited with their owners.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and support. It makes all the difference. By working together we can confidently ensure our students are well prepared for Winter and are able to enjoy their school day, no matter what Melbourne weather brings!

Should you have any queries or concerns please contact our school office on 9802 9938, or via email at glen.waverley.ps@education.vic.gov.au

Yours sincerely,
