The Primary Cross Country team finally had the opportunity to compete on Wednesday this week in the JSSATIS Cross Country, after the STCPSSA event was cancelled a fortnight ago.  It was the first time the event had been held at Soldiers Memorial Oval, and the runners seemed to enjoy the interesting and challenging course.  Conditions were perfect, and the team had a great day, trying their best and supporting each other.

Congratulations to the following Top 20 finishers:

In perfect conditions, 34 secondary students participated in the All Schools Cross Country at Symmons Plains today.  The Year 10 students competed first, in their last All Schools event representing Mount Carmel; followed by the Year 7 students, competing in this event for the first time.  The track was rough and tough, and congratulations to all runners on their strength and perseverance to finish.

Athletics Team Lunch

Last Thursday we celebrated the outstanding performances of the Secondary Athletics teams with a special lunch in the Cahill Centre.

Mr Richmond acknowledged the outstanding commitment students made to the early morning training and their efforts at the carnival.  The below mentioned students were provided with certificates acknowledging their commitment to training attendance

We then reflected on the strong performances by students at the carnivals, including awarding 1st place certificates to:

  • Navya Rawat for winning the U15 Javelin at the State carnival
  • Ruby Duggan for winning the U16 Shot Put at the State Carnival
