Principal's Message
Mrs Kylie Bryant - Principal
It has been another busy and vibrant fortnight at Roselea, with so many exciting activities and community moments to share.
Over the past two weeks, we underwent the important External Validation process. This rigorous review involves an evaluation of our school’s achievements, challenges, and future directions, providing an independent perspective to ensure we continue offering the best educational experience for our students. Following this, we will be engaging in further community and staff consultations to help shape the next School Plan. Your voice is vital in this, and we look forward to partnering with families and staff to set our goals and aspirations for the years ahead.
Year 6 students have eagerly launched the Recycling for Rewards program, encouraging sustainable habits while earning rewards for their efforts—an excellent way to promote environmental responsibility in our school community. Collections are taking place on Wednesday mornings on even weeks. Please collect your cans, plastic bottles, and poppers that have the 10c recycle label on them. No glass, please.
As we prepare for our new after-school care provider, families had the opportunity to participate in an informative webinar with Team Kids, who will begin service at the start of Term 3. This session helped families prepare for the new arrangements, and we are excited to welcome the fresh opportunities this program will bring.
In line with safety, our school conducted a successful evacuation drill, ensuring our students and staff are well-practised in our emergency procedures. Our students showed high levels of responsibility and were quick to respond to the planned evacuation drill.
Our senior students demonstrated their focus and determination while sitting for the Selective High and Opportunity Class tests over the last two weekends. A nervous and challenging experience, we wish all participants the very best as they await results.
Winter sports trials for PSSA have been underway, with many keen students trying out to represent Roselea. We are proud of their sportsmanship and enthusiasm, and look forward to watching them on the sporting fields over the coming months. Go Roselea!
Introduced in 2025 and after such a huge success, the Scholastic Book Fair has again filled our school library. The excitement around the fair is palpable—students and families alike are immersing themselves in the joy of reading, discovering a wonderful selection of books available to purchase. We encourage everyone to visit the fair to nurture that love of literature and support our school’s library resources. There is still one more day left to buy, so hurry in tomorrow to grab that last purchase. Thank you to Mrs Vassila for all her hard work in preparing for the fair.
Another heartwarming community event was Grandparents Day, which will continue to run in conjunction with our book fair, as it is wonderful to see so many smiling faces as grandparents share their own love for literature with their grandchildren. It was wonderful to see so many grandparents and special friends join us, sharing in the love of books and our school community. The day was filled with smiles, stories, and a lovely picnic where the canteen provided snack boxes, the OOSH hosted a coffee cart, and our school band filled the morning with beautiful music—a true celebration of connection across generations.
Our P&C did an outstanding job with the Mother’s Day breakfast and stall. The amazing turnout created a warm and inclusive atmosphere, recognising the invaluable role of mothers and female role models in our community. Thank you to all involved for making this event so memorable. We look forward to this becoming an annual school tradition.
Looking ahead, please keep these upcoming events in mind and #getinvolvedatRoselea
We encourage all families to #getinvolvedatRoselea by attending events or simply engaging with your child’s learning journey.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership.
