with Bon & Miss Marg
One of our rainbow chard seedlings certainly embraced the festive spirit this term and surprised us all by growing into a Christmas-tree-sized plant, almost as tall as Miss Marg! It quickly became a talking point in the garden and brought plenty of smiles and laughter to our students.
Â
Removing the oversized chard turned into a true team effort, with our junior students eagerly lending a hand to pull it out and make space for our upcoming summer planting. It was a wonderful opportunity to talk about plant growth, teamwork and preparing garden beds for the next season.
Â
In true Cowwarr fashion, nothing went to waste. Some of the plant material was added to our compost, while the rest found a new purpose as feed for one of our student’s cows and chickens. A fantastic real-life lesson in sustainability, responsibility and caring for our environment and a reminder that learning happens everywhere, even in the garden!
