'Together Everyone Achieves More'

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Staff 💙

Well… that’s a wrap! Another year comes to a close after a wonderful year of working and learning together. We spend much of our time celebrating our students and their achievements, but I would like to take this opportunity to shine a light on our incredible staff and the tremendous work, time, dedication, passion and care they bring to their roles each and every day.

Miss Bortoletti: Your dedication to your students, their learning progress and overall wellbeing is truly admirable. You spend countless hours planning, preparing and adapting learning tasks to meet the individual needs of every student. Your commitment, enthusiasm and fresh approach have been a breath of fresh air and you are a valued and significant asset to the Cowwarr Team.

Mrs. Anderson: We love your art lessons and the creativity you bring to every experience. You consistently go above and beyond to design engaging, fun and meaningful learning opportunities for students, both in the art room and in the classroom. Your passion for creativity and your support of students is deeply appreciated.

Mrs. Haworth: Thank you for taking on the Science learning this semester. You have created fun, engaging and hands-on experiences that have sparked curiosity and excitement for our students. You are always willing to step in and support wherever needed, and your flexibility and commitment do not go unnoticed.

Mrs. Edtmaier: Your tutoring support for our students is invaluable. You have contributed immensely to the learning growth of students who benefit from that extra support, helping to build their confidence, skills and independence. Your patience and dedication make a real difference.

Miss. Marg: Your contributions to wellbeing and your ongoing support of both students and staff cannot go unrecognised. Your commitment to ensuring everyone feels supported, safe and valued each day is truly invaluable. Our school is a better place because of the care and compassion you bring to your role.

Mrs. Bassett: What would we do without you keeping the school running so smoothly and so well organised? You work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything operates efficiently and effectively, and you are always there to keep us all on track. Your dedication and reliability are greatly appreciated.

Miss. Maddy: You are always there to ensure students have what they need each day to be successful. Your initiative in supporting both students and staff is highly valued, and your willingness to step in wherever needed makes such a positive difference to our school community.

Miss. Taylor: Your sense of humour is always a breath of fresh air for the team. The relationships and connections you build with students come so naturally, and this is felt and appreciated by everyone. Your warmth and positivity contribute greatly to our school culture.

Mrs. Hinchcliffe: Thank you for making borrowing books fun and exciting for our students. Your enthusiasm inspires a love of reading and supports our budding readers to explore new stories with confidence.

Mr. Peavey: What would we do without our sports master? Students absolutely adore you and look forward to their sports sessions each week. You see students for who they are and inspire them to be active, confident and enjoy physical activity. Your passion and encouragement have a lasting impact.

Thank you to each and every one of our staff for everything you do. Cowwarr Primary School is truly lucky to have such a dedicated, caring and committed team.

School Concert

Our End of Year Concert took place on Wednesday evening and was a truly special occasion for our students, families and staff. The night was filled with pride, joy and celebration as our school community came together to acknowledge the incredible efforts of our students.

Concerts at Cowwarr are always a little unique, as they are student-centred and driven by student voice. Each performance reflected our students’ individual interests, passions and strengths, most importantly showcasing what they wanted to share. From the planning and practising through to the final performance, students demonstrated confidence, creativity and courage as they took to the stage.

The concert provided a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, celebrate their children, and see the hard work, practice and learning that has taken place throughout the year. It was heart-warming to see students supporting one another and taking pride in their achievements, creating a night full of smiles and memorable moments.

Thank you to our families for your continued support and for sharing such a special evening with us. It was a fantastic way to celebrate our students and the strong sense of community we value so deeply at Cowwarr.

Year 6 Graduation

We are incredibly proud of our two Year 6 students, who have officially graduated from Cowwarr Primary School. They have each left a lasting and meaningful mark on the Cowwarr Team and will be greatly missed by both staff and students alike.

Throughout their time at Cowwarr, they have been wonderful role models, guiding and supporting younger students, demonstrating leadership, and consistently living our school values. Their kindness, maturity and willingness to help others have made a significant impact on our school community, and it has been heart-warming to see how much they will be missed, particularly by our younger students who have felt the loss of their presence in these final days.

As they move on to the next chapter of their learning journey, we wish them nothing but the very best for the future. We know they will continue to grow, thrive and make a positive contribution as they begin secondary school at their respective high schools. Good luck! Once a member of the Cowwarr Team, always a member of the Cowwarr Team.

Gumbuya World

On Monday, our students enjoyed our much-anticipated annual end-of-year excursion to Gumbuya World. It was a fantastic day filled with excitement, laughter and shared experiences as students and staff came together to celebrate a year of learning and positive choices.

A huge thank you to the parent helpers who generously gave their time to join us on the day. Your support, care and supervision helped ensure the excursion ran smoothly and that all students were safe, supported and able to fully enjoy the experience. Days like this simply would not be possible without the willingness of our families to lend a helping hand, and we are incredibly grateful for your ongoing support.

The excursion was a wonderful way to finish the year, creating lasting memories, strengthening connections, and celebrating our strong school community.

Artist in Residence

Our students were very fortunate to be selected to participate in the Artist in Residence program, a truly enriching and creative experience. Working closely with visiting artist Craig, alongside Georgie from the gallery, students engaged in a range of hands-on art experiences inspired by the natural environment around them.

Throughout the program, students explored and experimented with clay and natural materials, including seeds, sticks, seed pods, grasses and flowers, to design and create imaginative habitats and environments. They also developed mark-making skills by creating rubbings with crayons and pastels over grasses and other found objects, discovering how texture and pattern can be captured through different techniques.

Students learned how to create natural ink from bark, which they then used in their artwork, and took part in a walk to the river where they observed and sketched the surrounding landscape. This outdoor experience allowed students to further explore working with clay while strengthening their observation and drawing skills.

The Artist in Residence program fostered creativity, curiosity and a deeper connection to our local environment. It was wonderful to see students so engaged, confident and expressive as they explored new materials, techniques and ways of seeing the world around them.
