Creative Generation Excellence in Visual Art Awards

The Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art is an annual program that recognises and celebrates the artistic achievements and creative talents of senior high school visual art students across Queensland. Each year, every Queensland school is able to nominate four entries, showcasing the work of their senior students. With over 500 entries each year, after a rigorous selection process, around 40 individual artwork are selected for the exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art which runs from May to September each year. This year, we have entered artwork by four of our Year 12 Visual Art students, Alastair Malghem, Lyndon Maynard, Gianlucca Stack and Tim Henderson. Whilst judging will take place in late October, it is a great achievement to have been selected to represent our College.

Art Club and Games Workshop

Art Club this term has seen students creating decorative paintings to add some colour to the various spaces around the College during the upcoming Sony Camp. D&D and Warhammer have also been well attended with numbers growing steadily since Games Workshop was introduced at the beginning of the year

Tower Art Show

The Tower Art show in its tenth year, provided an opportunity for our talented Visual art students to have their work displayed in a professional setting alongside the work of practicing artists.  There was a selection of Year 5 – 12 artworks on display and a number of students also created and donated artworks to the Uplift project with 100 % of sales going to the Champagnat Trust.
