Marist Drama Film Festival - World Premiere Tomorrow!

Join us on Wednesday 16 September in the Experimental Theatre for the World Premiere of three original short films created and performed by our talented Year 7 Marist Drama students.

An advance screening for students will be held at 3:30pm, with popcorn provided. At 5:30pm, parents of our Year 7 Drama boys are warmly invited to walk the red carpet and enjoy the premiere showcase.

Featuring comedy, adventure and mystery, these films are the result of months of creativity, collaboration and hard work.

Soirée 2026

Thursday 17 September | 6:30pm | Champagnat Centre

The College community is warmly invited to attend our annual Soirée Concert, a celebration of music and a special farewell to our Year 12 musicians. Featuring performances from all College ensembles, this showcase highlights the talent and dedication of our student performers.

Food trucks will be available from 5:30pm, with food and drinks available for purchase. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased via the College Humanitix Page. We look forward to celebrating another outstanding year of music with our community.

Grandparents Day Concert

Students in the following ensembles are reminded to meet at the Gym by the start of Period 1 (8:50 am) for the Grandparents Day concert:

• String Quartet
• Big Band 1
• Marist Voices
• Symphony Orchestra
• Chamber Choir
• Chamber Strings

• Wind Orchestra 1

   

Students are to wear their formal Winter uniform for this concert.

Tower Art Show Performances

The annual Tower Art Show was a tremendous success, with patrons enjoying a wonderful weekend of art, community and live music. The entertainment program was exceptionally well received, providing the perfect accompaniment to the outstanding artwork on display.

Congratulations to the Blue and Gold String Quartet and the MCA Jazz Combo for their engaging performances on Friday evening. We also extend our sincere thanks to Matthew Teakle for his outstanding guitar performance on Saturday afternoon, which was greatly enjoyed by all in attendance. Thank you also to Mrs Catherine Wasserman for playing with the String Quartet at short notice. 

Musicians Represent Marist at Australian and State Honours Ensemble Programs

We wish our students selected for the Australian Honours Ensemble Program (AHEP) and State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP Queensland) all the very best as they participate in these prestigious programs at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University over the September school holidays. These programs bring together some of the finest young musicians from across Queensland and Australia to rehearse and perform under the guidance of leading conductors and educators. 

Congratulations toCooper Matthews, Archie Knowles and Hudson Melrose, who will perform with AHEP from 30 September to 3 October, andKenneth Brian, Wyatt Castleman, Alessander Javier, Jack Liddell, Thomas Lynn, Willem Starrenburg, Maverick Tucker, Alastair Williams, Ethan Wu and Zuca Zanre, who will perform with SHEP Queensland from 1 to 4 October. 

We are incredibly proud of these students and look forward to hearing about their experiences and achievements upon their return.

Term 4 Ensemble Rehearsals

In preparation for various performances in Term 4, there will be some changes to ensemble rehearsal mornings beginning in Week 1. Some ensembles will be combining in preparation for the Summer Concert in Week 5: 

*Please note, Percussion Ensemble members are encouraged to join the combined Wind Orchestra rehearsals on Wednesday mornings.

ATOM Awards Entries Now Open

Students with a passion for film, animation, documentary, music video and digital storytelling are encouraged to enter the 2026 ATOM Awards. Recognising excellence in screen and media production for more than 40 years, the awards are free to enter and open to students and emerging creators across Australia. Entries close on 25 September, with finalists announced ahead of the awards ceremony at ACMI in Melbourne on 30 October 2026.
