Intermediate Girls Soccer

On Tuesday 19 May, our Intermediate Girls Soccer team proudly represented Lyndale at Norman Luth Reserve. While the team did not come away with a win, they still had a fun day of competition out!

Many of the girls were new to soccer and bravely jumped in the deep end, taking on the challenge with enthusiasm and determination. Throughout the day, they gave their absolute best, supported one another, and continued to compete with positive attitudes and great effort.

A special thank you goes to Adelaide for assisting on the day and supporting the team throughout the event. Your help and encouragement were greatly appreciated.

Well done to all the girls for stepping outside their comfort zones, giving it a go, and representing Lyndale. – Ms Maxwell

Intermediate Boys Soccer

Our Intermediate Boys Soccer team competed on an overcast day at Coomera Reserve. We were in pool with only one other school, Keysborough Banskia, which meant we needed to play them twice. In both games, the boys played well, coming away with a 5-1 win and a 2-1 win.

After that the competition got harder, and our boys were unsuccessful in the semi-final against Dandenong High. All round, the boys worked well together and I was very proud of their performance. – Mr. PK

Intermediate Girls Netball

Our Intermediate Girls Netball team made the trek down to Gloria Pyke for an exciting day of netball. The girls fought hard, winning 6 out of 6 games and coming away as overall champions! Some close games kept us on our toes, but the group stuck together. A fantastic team effort! Excited to see what this team can do at Regionals! – Ms Poulton

Intermediate Boys AFL

Our Intermediate Boys competed in an AFL tournament. This was a great opportunity for our students who are gaining interest in AFL. We had to play modified games with only 12 students. We didn't come away with any wins, but the boys showed great sportsmanship and spirit throughout the day. – Mr. Palleschi

Senior Sport

Senior Girls Netball

During week two of Term 2, our Senior Girls Netball team went out and competed at Gloria Pyke Netball Stadium. It was a tough day, but the girls had high energy, high spirits and excellent resilience. With competition up against SEDA A team first, then Seda B team, we didn't have any wins that day. Even though it was tough, the girls played with great sportsmanship and represented the College well. – Ms. Shannon

Senior Badminton

A fantastic day of competition and teamwork from our Senior Badminton teams! The Senior Girls team finished 5th out of 9 schools, showing great determination, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout the day.

The Senior Boys team had an excellent performance, finishing 3rd out of 9 schools and earning a well-deserved place on the podium!

Well done to all students who represented Lyndale with respect, effort, and positive attitudes across the tournament. A great achievement by both teams!

Senior Boys Soccer

In week two, the Senior Boys went out to take on the soccer competition. They were gallant in their defeat, having to play 4 games in 2 hours with minimal break time. The students were able to win 2 of their 4 games, leaving us tied for third. Thanks to the boys for their efforts on the day! – Mr. Palleschi

Term 3 Interschool Sport

Senior Basketball

On Thursday 18 June, the Senior Boys Basketball team fought hard at Dandenong Stadium in 4 excellent matches. The boys were able to show off their skills early, dominating the two round robin matches against Mt Hira and Carwatha. In the first final, we had an evenly contested thriller against Keysborough Acacia, but despite getting a steal in the dying seconds, we unfortunately lost 20-21. The last final was against SEDA, who hit a barrage of three pointers and fast break shots to run over the top of us.

Senior Girls Futsal

Last week, the Senior Girls Futsal team headed out for what would be for some of them, their last chance for interschool sports. In the futsal team, there were five Year 12s playing who were eager to try and back up their win from last year. It was unfortunately not to be this time around with the girls winning 2, losing 3 and drawing 1. Nargis Ali and Sadaf Ali scored all the teams’ goals on the day and all the girls gave it their best efforts!

Senior Boys Table Tennis

The boys performed exceptionally well in the table tennis competition and demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day. They remained composed under pressure, shook hands after each rubber, and worked together effectively as a team, particularly during the more challenging stages of the competition.

While the team appeared slightly nervous when facing some of the stronger opponents in their pool, particularly CAR, they rose to the challenge in every set and successfully won each rubber. The final match was against KBA, and I am pleased to report that Lyndale was victorious, capping off an excellent performance by the team.

The boys were presented with a ribbon each and a flag for the school. Regionals will be on Tuesday 28 July during Term 3. Great work boys! – Ms Engellenner

Year 7 Winter Sport

Year 7 Girls Netball

It was an exciting day for our Year 7 Girls Netball team as they made their way to their first netball tournament, full of fun, laughs, lolly boxes, new friends and big wins. They represented Lyndale with pride. Well done, girls!

The team played their hearts out right to the final whistle, only losing the last game and finishing in a well-deserved 2nd place.

Year 7 Boys Soccer

The Year 7 Boys Soccer team competed on a sunny day at Tatterson Reserve. It was an exciting day as it was their first soccer outing at Lyndale.

We were in pool with Keysborough Banskia and Mt Hira. We did really well against Banksia, staying composed and coming away with a good, solid result. The game against Mt Hira was a difficult one and the boys played well but lost that encounter 3-1.

After that the competition got harder, and our boys were unsuccessful in the 4th placed game against Noble Park. All round, the boys worked well together and I was very proud of their performance. Well done. – Mr Pk

Year 7 Badminton

Well done to both badminton teams! It was good competition all day with great sportsmanship. Although Lyndale didn’t qualify for regionals, both teams played competitively throughout the day. Great work! – Mrs. Carmichael

Year 8 Winter Sport

Year 8 Badminton

In week seven, six Year 8 boys and girls went out to Springers Leisure Centre to compete in the badminton tournament. While we may not have had the best record on the day, the students had a fantastic time and a lot of fun competing in this session. There was a standout with Taavish Prasad winning almost all of his games!

Year 8 Boys Soccer

The Year 8 Boys Soccer team had an excellent tournament day, showcasing outstanding teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. The boys began the day with a dominant 6–0 victory over Carwatha, followed by an impressive 5–0 win against Noble Park. They then secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Minaret to finish the group stage undefeated and progress to the semi-finals. Across these matches, the team displayed strong defensive organisation and attacking quality, scoring a total of 12 goals. Guam led the scoring with four goals, while Abdullah, Brax, Zion, Elyas and Allen each contributed two goals. In the semi-final, the team faced a strong Dandenong side and battled courageously until the final whistle but were narrowly defeated.

Although their tournament ended in the semi-finals, the boys should be extremely proud of their efforts, representing the school with pride, resilience, and respect while achieving some outstanding results throughout the day.

Regional Cross Country Championships

A large team of Lyndale students proudly represented the school at the Regional Cross Country Championships held at Hastings Foreshore. Fortunately, the weather conditions were favourable, providing excellent conditions for competition.

All of our students gave their best effort on the course. As expected, regional-level competition was extremely strong, and while we did not have any students qualify for the State Championships this year, every member of our team should be incredibly proud of their performance. Our students set personal goals for the day, challenged themselves, and demonstrated outstanding determination and commitment throughout the event.

Following the competition, students enjoyed a well-earned stop at McDonald's before heading home—a fitting reward after a day of hard work and perseverance.

Congratulations to all students who represented Lyndale. Your resilience, sportsmanship, and willingness to push yourselves were evident throughout the day, and you should be proud of your efforts.
