Confirmation

Recently, the Year 6 students at St Joseph the Worker celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation, an important milestone in their faith journey.

In the weeks leading up to this special occasion, the Year 5 and Year 6 students spent time learning about the meaning and significance of Confirmation.

They explored the symbols associated with the sacrament, including the laying on of hands and the anointing with sacred chrism. Students also learned about the Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit and discussed how these can guide us to serve others, make good choices, and show kindness, patience, and love in our daily lives.

Through the story of Pentecost, students discovered how the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples, giving them the courage and strength to share God's message with others. They learned that Confirmation is the sacrament in which we receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit and are called to live as active members of the Church. Students also revisited the Sacraments of Initiation, Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation, and came to understand that Confirmation completes this important journey of initiation into the Catholic faith.

We congratulate our Year 6 students on receiving this sacrament and pray that they continue to be guided by the Holy Spirit as they grow in faith and service to others.

Our wonderful coach of the St Joseph the Worker football team, Vivian Faraj, treated the team to a hot dog lunch as a reward for their sportsmanship at the last footy game.  The students demonstrated all of our dispositions throughout the match and were a shining example of good sports!  Congratulations boys and thank you Vivian for such a treat!
