Maths

This fortnight in maths, we have been learning about addition and subtraction. We have been learning about strategies that you can use to assist when solving problems. Some of these have included: friends of 10, counting on from the larger group, counting forwards and backwards on a number line, using dominoes to add two groups together and playing 10 pin bowling to understand take-away.

Literacy

Over the last fortnight, we have been learning about the ‘Writing Trait’ Ideas. This has helped us think about what our sentences can be about, that there are so many things we can write about and that these ideas all come from our thinking. The children are beginning to produce some very interesting sentences.
