🌐 SWPBS Focus: Online Safety & Being Ready to Learn
Last week, our students took part in learning about online safety in recognition of Safer Internet Day. Across all classes, students explored how to be safe, respectful and responsible when using technology, both at school and at home.
Students learned about protecting their personal information, making respectful choices online, and what to do if something online makes them feel uncomfortable. These conversations support our school-wide expectations and help students build the skills they need to navigate digital spaces safely.
This week, our SWPBS focus is on self-regulation and being ready to learn. Students are learning to recognise how they are feeling and to use regulation tools such as movement breaks, breathing strategies, and asking for help when needed. Classes are also creating Ready to Learn Plans, which outline strategies students can use to help themselves feel calm, focused and prepared for learning.
Families can support this learning by talking with children about online safety at home and encouraging them to practise regulation strategies when they need help to calm their bodies or focus their minds.
