Grade Prep/1/2

We have had a very busy week in the prep-2 classroom. We said goodbye and thanked Ms Ferguson for her time and have welcomed our school leaders into the role temporarily. The school is currently in the recruitment process. Whilst that process is underway, the students are very lucky to have our Leading Teacher Mrs. Eales and Mrs. Richardson.
We have spent time continuing our work in reading fluency, handwriting, participating in systematic synthetic phonics daily as well as accessing our mathematics groups. In mathematics, our new students have been working on developing their number knowledge and value correspondence and colours. Our older students are working on groups of ten and learning the corresponding value/ numeral.
We have also tried really hard to learn our school values as well as what these may look like the classroom. Our focus value has been on learning Responsibility through our classroom routines. We are responsible for our belongings, how we make good choices in the classroom, as well as lining-up to ensure we are organised. We have reviewed our mini-whiteboard routines, what 'park-it, bin-it and chin-it' means.
