2024 Anthology Writing Competition

I am pleased to announce that the 2024 Anthology Writing Competition is officially underway!

A fantastic opportunity has come across our school to get involved within the local community.

The Montmorency-Eltham RSL is holding a writing competition entitled Spirit of ANZAC Students are invited to engage with the concept of the spirit of Anzac Day and write a 2–3 minute (approx. 350-400 word) poem or prose addressing this.

It is open to the whole school and all submissions are welcome. There is a cash prize of $250 and a selection of literature to the winner, which will be decided by the RSL.

Furthermore, the winning piece will become the official reading for the services at the RSL for the next 12 months. The winning piece will be held in a special place and revealed in a collection after ten years, alongside the winning pieces that will come after.

The Anthology team will also decide who the winner will be amongst the Eltham High School Community from all the submissions that are received, and prizes will include canteen vouchers and other cool items alongside an award and the chance to have your work published in the Anthology.

Submissions close Monday, April 1, 2024. I encourage all students to give this competition some thought and encourage everyone to have a go.

Please email all submissions to Mr Kumar (Raynold.Kumar@education.vic.gov.au) and see attached flyer in the Community Announcements section of this Newsletter.
