Faith and Mission 

Day of Dialogue - Monday 27 July 2026

Our 2026 Year 10 Religious Education Service in Action (RESA) students recently represented Catholic College Sale at the annual Day of Dialogue, held at Our Lady of Sion College in Box Hill. Together with Year 10 students from Marist Sion College, Ilam, Mount Scopus College, Notre Dame de Sion College (Kansas City) and Our Lady of Sion College (Évry, France), they participated in a day of learning and connection.

The day brought together students from Catholic, Jewish and Islamic schools to foster understanding, respect and friendship between faith communities. Through meaningful conversations and shared activities, our students embraced our school values while learning from the diverse beliefs, traditions and experiences of others. It was a valuable opportunity to build connections and promote peace, understanding and mutual respect.

Recently, a group of students from our Year 10 RESA class attended the Day of Dialogue, where we had the opportunity to meet students from Jewish and Muslim schools, as well as exchange students from Kansas City, USA, and Grand Bourg, France. Throughout the day, we participated in a range of discussions about our schools, our faith, and our everyday lives. We shared our beliefs, traditions and religious practices, discovering that while our faiths have many unique customs, we also have many values in common, such as kindness, respect and caring for others.

The experience encouraged us to ask questions, listen to different perspectives, and learn more about each other’s cultures and religions in a welcoming and respectful environment. It was a valuable opportunity to build understanding, form new connections, and appreciate the diversity within our community. We are grateful to have been part of this meaningful experience and look forward to other students having the opportunity to learn from and connect with people of different faiths and backgrounds in the future.
