Round Square Exchange Students

At the start of this term, we were very pleased to welcome two Round Square exchange students to St Philip’s. 

Tania Siew, from St Paul’s Co-educational College in Hong Kong, and Iroha Kawana, from Tamagawa Academy in Japan, quickly embraced life in Central Australia. From exploring some of the beautiful places around Alice Springs to getting involved in all that St Philip’s has to offer, they made the most of their time with us.

A special thank you to Ella Schwer and Gwyneth Van der Bergh, who hosted our visitors and helped make them feel part of the St Philip’s community.  Thank you to staff, Rev Dr Eseta Mateiviti (our new Chaplain), Meags Butler and Tarsha Jones who all escorted our students on excursions.  

We are also excited to welcome Zoe Maimba from St Stithians Girls College in South Africa, who will be part of our community until the end of term. Having students join us from different parts of the world is a wonderful reminder of our Round Square connections across the globe.

And the exchanges don’t stop there! Later this term, Ivy Inglis and Olivia Carey will head to Scotch College in Tasmania, before their exchange partners make the journey to Alice Springs to spend two weeks with us.

These exchanges provide opportunities to experience another school and community, form new friendships, develop independence and see the world from a different perspective. They are an exciting part of being a Round Square School and we feel incredibly fortunate to be connected with schools and students from across Australia and around the world.
