Principal's Message

Dear Families and Friends,

This week marks a deeply significant milestone in the life of our College. Together, we extend our heartfelt gratitude and farewell to our outgoing Year 12 student leaders, while officially inducting and welcoming the new leaders who will carry the torch into the future.

I want to thank our Year 12 leaders for their dedicated service and for navigating the unique challenges of this year with resilience. Leadership is rarely a smooth path; it requires hard work, adaptability, and a commitment to the daily life of our school. They have kept our college flame burning brightly, and I am incredibly appreciative of their efforts and dedication.

Our commitment to the Round Square Democracy pillar was on full display last week during the College Captain speeches and election process. I want to congratulate our Junior Round Square students, who were ably led by the College Captains and wonderfully supported by Roxanne Egan. The maturity with which our students engaged in voting was truly inspiring. It provided an authentic, real-world opportunity for them to experience what it means to participate as active citizens in a democratic community.

Thank you also to all the Year 9 and 10 families who attended our recent Subject Information Night. While we would have loved to see a higher turnout for the subsequent Subject Advice Afternoon, we want to remind families just how vital these conversations are. With a vast array of pathways available in Years 11 and 12, tailored guidance helps students make informed choices, explore their passions, and remain deeply engaged in their senior learning journey.

On the sporting front, we were blessed with perfect weather for last Friday’s Athletics Carnival. From the track to the field events, the day was absolutely buzzing with energy and school spirit. A huge thank you to Riley Simpson, Tarsha Jones, and the entire PE department for their outstanding organisation. I am equally grateful to all of our staff who spent the day running events, recording results, and cheering on the students—it was a magnificent team effort.

On Sunday, the College hosted another event for over 200 energetic local soccer players who attended the Liverpool FC International Academy Community Day. The day allowed local soccer players of all ages and abilities the chance to sample training the ‘Liverpool Way’. All our coaches passed their accreditation on the day, with the LFC IA Director commenting on the high standard of the coaches. We now look forward to commencing the Liverpool FC IA program within the school and for the greater community in the coming weeks and months.

The energy has continued directly into today, with the Round Square Cup adding immense colour, spirit, and plenty of friendly rivalry to the campus. With student teams competing fiercely—and even a courageous staff team in the mix—it is proving to be a fantastic day of community and fun.

Finally, the moment we have all been waiting for is almost here! Next week, our highly anticipated school musical, "Newsies", takes to the stage. With three evening performances, this promises to be a spectacular celebration of talent, teamwork, and creativity. Tickets are selling fast, so please ensure you don't miss out!
