Year 7 Humanities

Year 7 students explored Australian history through Dreamtime stories, bringing them to life with vibrant chalk drawings. This creative activity helped deepen their understanding of First Nations storytelling traditions.

By engaging in this hands-on artistic process, students were able to connect more personally with the themes, symbols, and lessons found within these stories. The use of colour and imagery encouraged creativity while also prompting thoughtful discussions about culture, respect, and the significance of oral storytelling in preserving history. This experience not only supported their learning in history but also fostered an appreciation for the rich and enduring traditions of Australia’s First Nations peoples.
