Primary News

What a lot of fun we had on Monday at our K–1 Athletics Carnival! It was so special to watch our students trying their best, cheering one another on and celebrating each other’s successes.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing our Year 6 students leading groups with such kindness and encouragement. They served and cared for our youngest students so beautifully — I think we may have some future teachers in the group!

It was also wonderful to have so many parents and carers join us for such a lovely morning in the sunshine together. It means so much when families share these experiences with us, and we are so thankful for your support and partnership.

This term has also been an exciting one as we have launched our Mates Program — a special initiative where some Primary students are paired with a Secondary “mate” to spend one lunchtime together each week. It has been incredibly special to watch these friendships begin to grow. For our Primary students, having an older student who notices them, encourages them and spends time with them means the world.

Over the past few weeks we’ve seen pairs chatting together, playing handball, walking around the playground and even one Primary student proudly playing his saxophone for his Secondary mate today! Moments like these remind us what a unique and special community we have here at the College. The opportunity for students of all ages to learn from, encourage and care for one another is such a gift.

As 1 Thessalonians 5:11 reminds us:

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.”

A reminder that our next Parent Assembly will be held on Friday June 12th at 2:20pm in the MPC, featuring a performance from Year 5. We would love to see you there!

Due to the forecast rain, our Years 2–6 Athletics Carnival has also been postponed to Monday June 30th.

Primary School Soccer Gala Days

What a fabulous four days of soccer we enjoyed recently! Students from Years 3–6 had the opportunity to participate in exciting full days of soccer alongside schools from all over Wagga. With more than 100 students attending across the four days, the atmosphere was full of energy, teamwork, and enthusiasm.

Our students played their hearts out and demonstrated excellent skill, determination, and perseverance on the field. There were plenty of exciting goals, impressive blocks, speedy breaks, and lots of laughter shared throughout the competition. Most importantly, students encouraged one another and displayed wonderful sportsmanship in every game.

A special thank you goes to our Secondary School students who gave their time to lead and support the teams. Their encouragement, and positive example were greatly appreciated by both staff and students.

We are very proud of all students involved for representing our school so well and for showing Christ-like attitudes of kindness, encouragement, and teamwork throughout the event.
