Hello JMSS community!

Congratulations on making it through one of the most challenging parts of the year: SAC and exam week! It’s been great to see the support and collaboration across year levels as we all worked together to achieve the best outcomes. Well done, everyone!

On Friday, the 30th of May, the World’s Greatest Shave was held at JMSS, and it was a resounding success. A huge thank you and congratulations to everyone involved in organising, promoting, and participating in the event. We truly couldn’t have done it without you.

Together, we’ve raised an incredible $16,575 so far! Donations will remain open until the end of the year, so if you’d still like to support this important cause, there’s still time. Let’s keep the momentum going and continue making a difference.

On Tuesday, the 24th of June, at lunchtime, the Push-Up Challenge took place, an event aimed at promoting mental health awareness and encouraging physical wellbeing.

A big congratulations to Doherty House, which recorded the most push-ups during the challenge! Thank you to all who participated and helped spark important conversations around mental health in our school community.

After a series of exciting events and displays of outstanding house spirit, the final points have been tallied. We’re thrilled to announce that Doherty House has taken out this year’s Corkill Cup!

Well done to all houses for your energy, commitment, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. It’s been a fantastic celebration of involvement and teamwork.

The Year 10 and 11 Formal took place on Wednesday 25th June, and it’s been amazing to hear how much fun everyone had, and you all looked fantastic!

This final week of term sees our Year 10s heading off for work experience and the Reef and Rainforest trip for some Year 11s. We wish everyone the best of luck and hope you all have an amazing time.

Looking ahead, we have some exciting events, especially for the year 12s as we come into the tail end of the year, including bring anything but a backpack and year 12 movie night. We can’t wait to see you all get involved.

Thank you to everyone for such a great term 2!
