Principal Message

The college welcomes Mrs Millie Bright as our Acting Assistant Principal until 16th October in Mrs Scutti’s absence overseas enjoying some well earned Long Service Leave. Mrs Bright is working particularly well with our Leadership Team and we look forward to her continuing good work.

These past two weeks have seen the completion of Year 12 major projects across  a range of subjects with written pieces such As English Extension II and Society & Culture along with produced artefacts such as Visual Art, Industrial Technology and Design and Technology as well as Music and Drama performance pieces.

Congratulations to our Year 12 students on finishing these projects and for the quality of them but just as importantly a huge thank you to our teachers who have guided with passion and worry the students through the process. Such projects always require significant extra time including after school and during holidays. We are most grateful for their commitment and their generosity.

Over the past two weeks the students and staff have been contributing to a discernment process to choose our student leadership team, our SRC for Year 12 2025. This process has involved an application,  vote of all students and staff, a video presentation and consideration of all we know about them by our College Leadership Team to decide on the final. It is a fulsome process and I thank the twenty three students who were nominated for their interest and commitment to the college. They are a very impressive group and we look forward to 2025.

The twelve chosen to be our Year 12 SRC for 25 are as follows:

  • Tyler Barclay
  • Lachlan Bruce
  • Mackenzie Edwards
  • Isabelle Fortescue
  • Madeleine Gaiter
  • Charlotte Garrod
  • Ellie James
  • Lydia Jones
  • Ida Kurian
  • Samuel Livio
  • Frazer Lugton
  • Holly Williams

I’d also like to thank the Leadership Teams and staff of both Kildare and Mount Erin Boarding for the very successful compliance reviews completed recently by CEDWW. The community should have great confidence in the colleges’ compliance with legislative requirements in all areas of operation. In particular to Mrs Christie Scutti and Mr John Bussenschutt I give a vote of thanks for the leadership they provided and the hours of work to ensure all details were met.

We wish Year 11 all the very best with their end of Preliminary Year examinations commencing next Monday. These culminate three terms of hard work at the end of phase one of the HSC program.

Year 10 have also been preparing for Year 11 with interviews today clarifying their program of study with meetings with staff today. Thanks to all staff involved in assisting this discernment process.

We continue to keep Year 12 in our prayers as they near the end of their time at school. Their Games Night and the Day of Hope with Glen Gerryn both went very well and we congratulate them for their efforts at this time.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the college.
