Basketball Buddies program wrap-up

Our Prep students, along with some enthusiastic Year 1 students (and even a couple of preschoolers), had an absolute blast participating in the Basketball Buddies program this term. Each week, our amazing Year 4, 5 and 6 basketballers stepped into the role of coaches, patiently teaching essential basketball skills and sharing their love of the game with the youngsters.

A huge thank you to our Big Basketball Buddies who showed up week after week with dedication, energy, and care. Along the way, they gained first-hand experience in the complexities (and joys!) of coordinating and teaching younger children – valuable skills that will no doubt support their future coaching and teaching aspirations. 

Feedback from the big kids was overwhelmingly positive, with many sharing how much they enjoyed the experience and how “very cute” the little ones were.

The Preps are already looking forward to seeing their big basketball buddies around school next year and inviting them to assist coaching their teams. 

A special shout-out also goes to the parents who helped make the program possible. It was a wonderful example of mutually beneficial community spirit in action.
