Year 8 Captain's Report

Welcome back everyone! Welcome to Term 3! I hope everyone has had a nice, relaxing break and is now ready to get back into some fun. It’s crazy to think that we are already halfway through the year, but Term 3 holds exciting activities for us. This includes our College Production, Snow Camp, Wear It Purple Day, Odd Socks Day, R U OK? Day and many more incredible things. 

For most of our students, the time has come to pick our Year 9 and 10 specialisms, as well as VCE subjects. It has been a lot of fun looking through the list of subjects and deciding what we would like to study next year. It is also very nice to be able to pick topics that interest us and I can’t wait to start choosing my Year 9 specialisms for next year. 

For our amazing Year 12s, it is their last full term until they complete their whole high school journey at Beaumaris Secondary College. Enjoy your last full term Year 12’s! We hope everyone enjoys this wonderful Term 3, and a delightful rest of the year!

Communications Leader Report

Welcome back to Term 3 everyone! My name is Parshan and I am joined by Leo to lead Communications this year, which is a new leadership role that has been implemented to coordinate several different items around the school. 

One of our projects recently has been condensing the numerous messages from Teams and Compass that students might get in a day. Some students may have already noticed the newly built Communications Board by the Beckett stairs next to B13. On this board, we have opportunities for student-led initiatives, a summary of the week’s Teams messages and other upcoming events and reminders too. 

Our aim is to have similar boards on the Ricketts and Southern levels; all of which will be updated every Tuesday. We hope that this is an initiative that continues to help everyone around the school and on behalf of the Communications team, we wish you the best of luck in Term 3!
