District Hockey Gala Day

Congratulations to all the students who took part in the Hockey Gala day on Tuesday. Everyone played really well and in the right spirit and also improved as the day went on. It was great to see so many students involved from Year 5 and 6.

Both the Year 6 teams finished top of their pools and both Year 5s finished 2nd in their pool. Eventually we won both the boys and the girls finals, so both teams are now through to Division next term. 

Year 6 boys drew 0-0 in the final but then won 2-1 on shoot-outs!

Year 6 girls won 1-0 in the final.

Congrats to everyone. A special mention to Mr Hale and Miss Harris, Miss Jo and Mrs Nicole for assisting us on the day. 

Athletics Training Squad Term 3

We will be starting Athletics training next term. I have attached the timetable of training and an initial squad list. All those students on the list are encouraged to attend training. I will then make a final team once we have had a few training sessions. 

The squad list was taken from our Athletics carnival. Please note that in the 100m, 200m and hurdles there were multiple races in each age group, so I have taken the fastest times across all the heats. For example students might have come 1st in their race but finished 5th overall on time. 

Additionally if your son/daughter was away or injured during our Athletics carnival they are also welcome to come to training to get a time or distance. 

Trials

The 800m trial, will be an open trial for anyone wanting to have a go at 800m (2 laps) 

Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put and Discus Trials are open to all squad members and anyone that was away or injured or had 2 No jumps on our Athletics carnival day. 

Multiple Events 

Some students are on several lists and as students can only do 2 events plus the relay, I will be liaising with those students to put them in their best events for them to move to the next level and to secure points for St Pats.
