Performing Arts and Community Update

Congratulations to all our students on a wonderful whole-school rehearsal on Monday. It was so exciting to see all the different parts of the production starting to come together, and the students should be incredibly proud of their efforts.

Using a marked-out version of the stage dimensions on the basketball court, we rehearsed our roles and transitions and worked through the many moving pieces of the show. Students showed great patience while waiting for their turn and were a fantastic audience for one another throughout the rehearsal.

A special congratulations goes to our Main Ensemble, who have given up many break times throughout the year to rehearse. Their dedication and commitment have been outstanding, and we are now on the home stretch towards Performance Night.

A huge thank you also goes to our Production Team and dedicated staff, who have been working behind the scenes all year. In particular, we are especially grateful to Jen Brown and Ann Easton for the many hours they have devoted to sets, props and costumes.

As we head into the holidays, we hope all students enjoy a well-earned break and come back rested and ready for the final few weeks of preparation before Performance Night. Tickets will go on sale in Week 1 of Term 3, and we’ll let families know as soon as the booking link is live.

Makeup:

  • No stage makeup is to be worn at either dress rehearsal.
  • For performances, stage makeup is optional for Prep - Year 6 and, if worn, should be applied at home; it helps ensure faces and expressions are visible under bright stage lights.
  • Main Ensemble Cast: selected characters will receive additional makeup at the theatre - details will be shared later this term. These students should arrive with a simple base already applied at home, ready for enhancement by staff.
