YEAR 9
Growing Together

Head of Year 9
This Monday we will hold our Athletics Carnival, a fantastic opportunity for students to get involved, have fun, and support their House. I encourage all Year 9 students to participate and contribute to their House effort- especially those in CAHILL!
Students have the option to participate competitively or non-competitively; every contribution counts.
Students are required to arrive in House uniform and closed-in shoes. They may change into appropriate House costumes once at Barlow Park.
I look forward to seeing Year 9 representing their Houses with enthusiasm and pride!
It has been a full and rewarding term for our Year 9 cohort, with two sporting carnivals and our fantastic camp. I encourage students to take the upcoming break as an opportunity to rest and recharge ahead of Term 3.
Please take some time over the holidays to reflect on the previous term, using the Semester One report card, and set some meaningful goals for the remainder of the year.
Thank you for your continued support.

Please complete thepre-order form and make payment at the Uniform Shop (located next to the Tuckshop), which is open Tuesday to Friday, 8:00 am–8:45 am.
When ordering, please include:
Shirt size(s)
Orders close: Friday 19 June (Term 2, Week 9). Payment must be received by the end of Term 2.
For any enquiries, please contact Ms Tamara or Mrs O’Grady at aogrady@cns.catholic.edu.au.

If you ride an e-bike, e-scooter, e-skateboard or e-unicycle, important new Queensland laws come into effect from 1 July 2026.
Key changes include:
✅ New speed limits on footpaths and when passing pedestrians
✅ Increased penalties for unsafe riding
✅ Police powers to seize illegal devices used in public places
✅ Stricter requirements for legal e-bikes and personal mobility devices
✅ Continued focus on helmet use, mobile phone restrictions, and drink-riding laws
These changes are designed to improve safety for riders, pedestrians and all road users. Parents and students are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the new rules before the school holidays.
