SAPSASA Netball Girls Metro Carnival

I was fortunate to be selected in the SAPSASA Division 1 Airport netball team which played in the Girls Metro Carnival at SADNA from the 17th to the 19th of June. I was so excited to be chosen and couldn’t wait to play.

We played 9 games over the three days, and our team got better and more confident every time we stepped on the court. By the end of the second day, we were undefeated with 6 wins, which made us feel really proud and pumped for the final day.

The third day was definitely the hardest. We had to play South West, who were also undefeated, and everyone said the winner of that game would probably win the gold medal. We were pretty nervous, and the game was close the whole way through. Even though we tried our best, we lost by 5 goals. We were disappointed, but also proud because we played really well and no other team had come that close.

After that, we had another tough game and lost to Western, which we didn’t expect. But because of our strong wins earlier in the week, we still finished in second place and won the silver medal, which felt amazing.

The Airport Division 3 team also went through the carnival undefeated and came away with the gold medal so we were really excited for them too.

I had so much fun during the carnival. I played good netball, made new friends, and felt really proud to represent my school and my district.

U11

After an up and down start to the regular season, LNPS Under 11s made an outstanding start to their Dennis Price Cup Knockout campaign, securing a commanding 5–1 victory. Christos led the charge with an impressive hat-trick, setting the tone with clinical finishing. The result reflected excellent teamwork and the team’s continued development with growing confidence, improved skills and increased game awareness clearly on display. The team is looking forward to the second round of the cup next term.

SAPSASA Cross Country Championships 

In week 6, the SAPSASA Cross Country Championships were held at Oakbank, and conditions were certainly challenging, with plenty of wind, rain and mud!

Congratulations to Jude N, Nathanel S and Quinn N for braving the wintery weather and representing both the Airport District and our school with pride.

All three students ran in fields of between 180 and 210 runners with Nathanael finishing 14th in the 11 year old boys event, Jude finishing 44th in the 10 year old boys event and Quinn finishing 59th in the 12 year old girls event.  Their teams finished 10th, 7th and 10th respectively.

Our students represented LNPS and the district with pride, demonstrating resilience, teamwork, and a positive attitude in every aspect of the competition.
