Grade 6 | Sassafras

Camp Clayton

Grade 6 Sassafras have been on camp this week to Camp Clayton in Ulverstone. We were very lucky with the weather, leaving Hobart in the rain and arriving to blue skies and sunshine. 

Here are some of the highlights from the students:

Xavier - Playing air hockey, 8-ball, table tennis and Ed’s Alley with Maddie in the games room. 

Braxton - My favourite activity was the beach walk. 

Jason - My favourite activity was playing tag. 

Jaxson - My favourite activities were the zipline, the Giant Swing and playing Ed’s Alley. 

Dom - My favourite activity was the zipline. 

Beau - I loved playing basketball and going on the Giant Swing.

Thomas -  I loved hanging out with my friends in the cabin.

Louis - My camp highlights were going on the Giant Swing and playing basketball. 

Aavnish - The Giant Swing was fun and exciting, and winning the basketball game.

Tommie - My camp highlights were going upside down on the Giant Swing and doing flips on the trampoline.

Kasen - My favourite thing was the Giant Swing as I went upside down.

Archer - My favourite memory was playing futsal. 

Flynn - My favourite memory was Nash teaching me how to do a front flip on the trampoline. 

Chase - My camp highlight was trying to find crabs at the beach. 

Ray - My camp highlight was hanging out with my friends and being silly. 

Theo - My favourite activity was Nash teaching me how to do a front flip on the trampoline. 

Nash - My camp highlight was teaching Theo how to do a front flip.

Lily - My camp highlight was when we got ice cream even though we didn’t win the hole in one golf challenge from Mr Morgan.

Cleo - My camp highlight was when Ruby S tripped over on the trampoline.

Nora - I loved the Giant Swing as I went upside down and to the top. 

Ruby S - My camp highlight was when Cleo fell over a fence.

Millie - My camp highlight was Mr P Kelly trying to tell me he played for the Hobart Chargers.

Rubi A - I loved being with my friends and jumping on the trampoline. 

Maddie - I loved hanging out with my friends and playing games.

Diya - My favourite activity was going on the Giant Swing.

Molly - My favourite activity was the Giant Swing.

Pavneet - My camp highlight were the funny photos Maddie and Diya took of me sleeping. I also loved the Giant Swing.

Mrs Hannah Edwards - I loved seeing every student pushing themselves out of their comfort zone. 

Mr Brendan Kelly - I loved the way the students all worked together to support each other.

Miss Casson-Medhurst - I enjoyed seeing the different personalities of the students in a camp environment. It was great seeing some of the quiet ones take on leadership roles. 

Mr Patrick Kelly - My camp highlight was beating Mr Morgan and reaching the top of the middle rock climbing wall. 

Coach Fitz - My camp highlight was the students' teamwork in hauling me up to the top of the Giant Swing!

Mrs Kelly Collinson - My camp highlight was the encouragement the students gave each other (especially on the Giant Swing, ziplining and on the trampolines).

Mr Ben Morgan - My camp highlight was seeing the problem-solving and teamwork during the team rescue challenge. Whilst the dummy patient was definitely worse for wear, the team successfully completed the course and got them to safety. 

Thanks to all the adults who came along to camp: Mr Morgan, Mrs Hannah Edwards, Mr Patrick Kelly, Coach Fitz, Miss Casson-Medhurst, and Mr Brendan Kelly, who also drove the bus.
