Pathways

Semester One has been an outstanding success in Careers and Pathways, with our students participating in more than 1,000 career and future-focused opportunities through industry partnerships, experiences, university programs, excursions and guest speakers. Students gained valuable insights and inspiration to help shape their future pathways and sincerely thank our industry partners, universities, colleges, alumnae and parents for their ongoing support as we look forward to another exciting semester of empowering every student to achieve their goals.

During the school holidays, HSC students Grace and Shabeena have been gaining valuable real-world experience through Caroline Chisholm College's allied health work experience program in partnership with OnePointHealth. The immersive program has given the students hands-on exposure to physiotherapy, podiatry, exercise physiology and dietetics, helping them explore future career pathways while learning from experienced health professionals. A special thank you to the OnePointHealth team, including alumnae Madeleine Vella (Class of 2020), for providing such an inspiring opportunity that is helping students turn their career aspirations into reality. Watch Shabeena’s reflections here

Late last term, Rhianna (Year 12) and Charlotte (Year 10), enjoyed the On the Menu: Hospitality & Cookery Taster at TAFE NSW Kingswood, where they gained hands-on experience in hospitality, cookery and baking by creating delicious milkshakes, triple chocolate cookies and customised crêpes. They also heard from current apprentices, whose inspiring career stories gave them valuable insight into the exciting opportunities available in the hospitality industry. A big thank you to Jared Wilson (Regional Industry Education Partnerships, Skills and Workforce Programs) and the team at TAFE NSW Kingswood for providing such an engaging and rewarding experience that left our students feeling inspired about their future pathways.

Lunch & Learn has featured inspiring sessions including Liliana Arango from the University of Tasmania and CCC alumnae Danielle Fordham (Class of 2014). Students explored a wide range of university study options, scholarships and pathway opportunities with UTAS, while Danielle shared her career journey as an Environmental Scientist and Agriculture Advisor, encouraging students to build connections, stay curious and embrace their own unique pathways. A big thank you to our presenters and all the students who participated - we look forward to another exciting season of Lunch & Learn this term.

In the latest edition of our Minute with a Mentor series, College alumnae Taranpreet Kaur (Class of 2021) shares how her passion for science led to a rewarding career in pathology. As Year 12 enters the final stretch, students are encouraged to regularly check the Careers Canvas page for the latest updates on Early Entry, Open Days, UAC information and other important post-school opportunities. Students should also be working through their individual Post School Plan documents via the Canvas page, and those who are feeling unsure about their next steps are encouraged to book a meeting with us for personalised guidance and support.
