KLA Feature - Year 8

Year 8 students have had a wonderful Semester 1, embracing a wide range of learning opportunities and community experiences.

This term began with our Semester 1 Awards Presentation in Week 2, where we celebrated the outstanding achievements of our Year 8 students. It was a wonderful opportunity to recognise students for their academic effort, commitment to learning, and positive contribution to the College community.

In Week 10 of Term 2, students proudly celebrated Caroline Chisholm Day, recognising the values and legacy of our College's namesake. To conclude the term, students participated in their Formation Day, enriching their faith journey through the theme, "Love is patient and kind." The day provided valuable opportunities for reflection, connection and personal growth.

This term, Year 8 students will begin the exciting Year 9 (2027) Subject Selection process as they prepare for the next stage of their learning journey. In Week 3, students will attend a series of subject information sessions designed to help them reflect on their interests, recognise their strengths, and consider the subjects in which they have experienced success.

We hope these sessions inspire meaningful conversations at home, allowing families to support their daughters as they explore their future learning pathways. We encourage students to make subject choices based on their individual interests, strengths and aspirations, rather than the choices of their friends. Over the next two years, these subjects may provide pathways towards future careers or simply allow students to deepen their knowledge in areas they are genuinely passionate about.

When students choose subjects that motivate and inspire them, they are more likely to take ownership of their learning, engage positively in the classroom and commit to achieving their personal best.

We look forward to seeing our Year 8 students continue to flourish academically, spiritually and socially as they build lasting friendships and embrace the many opportunities that lie ahead.
