Religious Education Year 7 -10
This term, students in Year 7 -Year 10 are continuing to engage in their learning in Religious Education through the Encountering Jesus curriculum. We recognise that a strong partnership between home and school is essential for children to flourish in all aspects of their learning. As parents and carers, you are the first educators of your children, and we are grateful for the role you play in nurturing their faith.
To support this partnership, Parent Support Information has been provided which outlines the Religious Education Learning Cycles for this term. This resource includes an overview of the Learning Outcomes, Core Scripture, and some suggestions for engagement at home to support your child’s learning and faith development.
We hope this information is helpful as, together, we nurture your child as they grow in faith and deepen their understanding of what it means to live as a follower of Jesus.

Feast of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop - Saturday, 8 August
On Friday 7 August, our school community will celebrate the Feast of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, Australia’s first canonised saint and a courageous woman of faith, compassion and service.
Mary MacKillop dedicated her life to the education and care of children, particularly those living in poor and isolated communities. In 1866, she founded the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart with Father Julian Tenison Woods, establishing schools across Australia and ensuring that education was accessible to those most in need.
Mary believed education was about more than academic achievement. She saw it as an opportunity to nurture faith, character and a deep sense of dignity and responsibility towards others. Her vision continues to inspire Catholic education today.
Her words, “Find happiness in making others happy,” remind us of the joy that comes from caring for and serving others.
To mark her feast day, students and staff will gather in homeroom for a prayer service, reflecting on Mary’s legacy and how we can live her values in our daily lives. May her example inspire us to act with faith, courage, compassion and justice, and to make a difference wherever we see a need.
