Welcome Back to Term 3

I warmly welcome all students, staff, and families back to Caroline Chisholm College for Term 3. I hope the holiday break provided an opportunity for rest, renewal, and quality time with family and friends.

As we begin a new semester, students from Years 7-10 have now received their Semester 1 reports and many families have participated in our recent Parent-Teacher Interviews. These important moments provide an opportunity to celebrate achievements, acknowledge growth, and identify areas for further development. Feedback is one of the most powerful tools for learning, and I encourage all students to take time to reflect on the feedback they have received, review the goals they set earlier in the year, and consider what adjustments may be needed to continue striving for personal excellence. Growth occurs when we are willing to embrace both our successes and the opportunities presented through challenge and constructive feedback.

A special focus this term is our Year 12 students, who commence their HSC Trial Examinations in the coming weeks. As a College community, we hold our Year 12 students in our thoughts and prayers during this significant period of their educational journey. We are reminded of the words from St Paul's letter to the Philippians:

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)

While the word "trial" can often bring feelings of pressure or uncertainty, it is important for our students to remember exactly what these examinations are; a trial. They provide an invaluable opportunity to test and refine study habits, revision strategies, time management, wellbeing routines, and examination techniques. Some of the most significant learning growth occurs between the Trial Examinations and the final HSC examinations. The trials provide students with important insights into what is working well and what may need adjusting. Whether it be study patterns, sleep routines, balancing commitments, maintaining physical wellbeing, or managing stress, this period offers valuable information that can help students make informed changes and approach the HSC with greater confidence and preparedness.

To our Year 12 students, trust in the preparation you have undertaken, remain focused on your goals, and remember that your worth is not defined by a mark or examination result. Rather, it is reflected in your commitment, perseverance, courage, and willingness to continue learning and growing.

As we move through the term, information will be communicated to Year 12 families regarding the conclusion of Term 3, including important dates and times for Graduation, Awards Ceremonies, and other significant events. We hope that providing this information early will assist families in planning and ensure that these special milestones can be shared and celebrated together.

I look forward to another successful term filled with learning, growth, faith, and opportunity for every member of our College community.

With Compassion, Courage and Commitment,

Mrs Julie Petrovski
