Year 3/4 Learning Reflection

4A have been learning about assimilated prefixes. An assimilated prefix is a prefix that changes its spelling to match the first sound or letter of the base word, making the word easier to pronounce. Students identified the base word and then changed the prefix to match the base word correctly.
Grade 3 students have been exploring the water cycle and learning about the three states of water: solid, liquid and gas. To consolidate their learning, we headed outside to play a fun 'Water Molecules' game. Students became water molecules, acting out how they behave in each state. They moved quickly and spread apart to represent gas molecules, walked around the space to show liquid molecules flowing past one another, and bunched closely together to model the tightly packed molecules in a solid.
In maths, we were focusing on division and multiplication word problems and using UPSCheck and CUBES to help them solve the problem.
