Incredible effort & sportsmanship!

Round Robin

Senior Boys AFL Round Robin Tournament

On Thursday, May 23rd, Brighton Secondary College's Senior Boys AFL team took part in a fiercely contested 7-team Round Robin Tournament. Across three intense games, the boys gave their all, representing BSC with pride, heart, and a hefty dose of footy spirit.

Game 1 vs Mordialloc

The opening match was a well-fought contest, but Brighton ultimately went down 7–36. Josh slotted our only goal with style, while Sonny was a rock on the half-back line—so involved he was lucky not to end the game with leather poisoning.

Game 2 vs McKinnon

Backing up immediately to face a fresh McKinnon side was always going to be a challenge. The scoreboard read 6–67 at the final siren, but the effort from the Brighton boys never wavered. The score didn't reflect the boys' enthusiasm for the contest, unlike Jake's celly after banging one through the middle did.

Game 3 vs Sandringham – Our Grand Final

The final game of the day was the real highlight. A close first half saw Brighton up 14–10, thanks to classy goals from Max and Kaden. With some tactical brilliance and stirring halftime speeches, the boys came out firing. Dominance in the middle and elite clearances set the standard. Goals from Sacha, Jake, Josh, and Koby sealed a commanding 53–23 win, securing 5th place overall and ending the day on a high.

Proud Coaches

Mr. Myers and Mr. Henderson couldn’t be prouder of the lads—for their effort, sportsmanship, and the way they embodied all the BSC values throughout the day. Whether it was contesting every ball, lifting each other’s spirits, or simply playing for the jumper, the boys did Brighton proud.
