BLA Mock Court Competition

Our students recently put their legal skills to the test and participated in the Business Liaison Association (BLA) Mock Court Competition. Students took on the roles of prosecution, defence, witnesses and court bailiff. 

It was a fantastic opportunity to experience the justice system in action, while developing confidence, critical thinking and legal reasoning. Many thanks to the BLA and the Cairns Courthouse. 

History Comes to Life at Cairns Museum

Our Year 9 History students explored the connections between the Industrial Revolution and the development of Cairns at the Cairns Museum. Theyinvestigated how changing technologies, industries and working conditions shaped our local community. It was a great opportunity to connect global history with Cairns’ key industries and local stories. 

Year 8s Examine Coastal Erosion

Our Year 8 students recently visited Holloways Beach and Machans Beach to investigate coastal erosion in action. Students explored the causes and effects of erosion and examined coastal management strategies. Thanks to Cairns Regional Council for their insights.  

Vietnam Veterans’ Day Commemoration

Some of our senior History students proudly attended the Vietnam Veterans' Day at the Cairns RSL Cenotaph to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan and honour the service and sacrifice of Australian Vietnam veterans. 

Helping the Blood Bank

Our seniors recently made their second visit to the Cairns Donation Centre with Cooper Napoli Krombholz, Lachlan Turner, Zakaree Vincent, Brandon Goode and Linkin Stoddart making donations.

Thank you to all who have participated. Seniors who are 18 years old are encouraged to make donations in their own time and share photos with the College community.
