Music Notes

We have had a great start to 2025 in the Music Department!
Our ensemble rehearsals have been sounding amazing, and we are very proud of all our performers who helped kick off the 2025 performance season at the Twilight Concert on Monday, March 31st. It was a wonderful showcase of talent, and we can’t wait to see how the ensembles progress throughout the year!
We would like to congratulate 2024 graduate Cedar Christensen-Elliott on receiving the 2025 Margaret Schofield Memorial Scholarship for Music Performance. Cedar is an incredibly passionate and dedicated young musician and a very deserving recipient of this scholarship. Personally; having taught Cedar every semester since 2020 (including supporting him through 4 VCE subjects), it has been an absolute privilege to see him develop and grow as a musician. Prior to commencing his studies at VCA this year in Jazz and Improvisation, Cedar had already proven himself to be an accomplished saxophonist, composer, performer, and improviser. His time and commitment to his studies of music has been exemplary and he without doubt has been a role model to his peers and the next generation of young musicians at Princes Hill.
