Assistant Principals' Report

A Positive Start to the Year
As we reflect on the start of the school year, is wonderful to see how well students have settled into their routines and embraced the many opportunities at our school. We would also like to congratulate our broader school community who consistently demonstrate enthusiasm, resilience, and a strong sense of connection. We look forward to building on this momentum throughout 2025.
Wellbeing Initiatives
The school remains committed to student wellbeing, with ongoing work to ensure all students feel supported, connected, and engaged in their learning. We are continuing to develop programs that focus on mental health, resilience, and positive relationships. Students are encouraged to access our wellbeing team for support and participate in upcoming initiatives designed to promote a positive school culture. More details will be shared as these programs develop.
Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences
In Week 9, we held our Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences online via Webex, offering families the opportunity to engage with subject teachers and discuss student progress. This year, we trialled a new format, with interim reports released before bookings opened and a condensed booking period. We will be seeking feedback via a survey to assess the effectiveness of these changes and gather insights into the overall conference experience.
A sincere thank you to our entire school community for your high level of engagement across the two conference days. Additionally, our heartfelt appreciation goes out to our dedicated teaching staff for their efforts in preparing for and participating in these conferences, ensuring meaningful discussions with families.
School Clubs & Activities
A range of co-curricular clubs and activities have started up this year, providing students with opportunities to explore their interests and make new connections. Some of the clubs running in Term 2 include:
- NICE Club (Newcomers, Inclusion, Connection & Engagement) – A space designed specifically for Year 7 students to meet new friends and settle into secondary school life.
- Crafty Crew – A creative outlet for students who enjoy arts and crafts.
- Gaming Club – A space for students to connect over board games and video games in a social and inclusive environment.
- And many more! Students are encouraged to check Compass or speak to their teachers about how to get involved.
Looking Ahead
Term 2 promises to be a busy and exciting time for our school community. We will commence on Tuesday, 22 April with a whole-school assembly and Welcome to Country on our newly resurfaced basketball court. Students should attend their scheduled Period 1 class as usual, where rolls will be marked before proceeding to the assembly.
