HOUSE CROSS-COUNTRY: On Tuesday 5th May, we enjoyed beautiful autumn conditions for our annual House Cross Country at Domeney Reserve. It was fantastic to see so many students proudly wearing their house colours, encouraging one another and embracing the excitement of the day.

Students in Years 3 to 6 competed in their respective age-group races, including 12/13-year-old boys and girls, 11-year-old boys and girls, and 9/10-year-old boys and girls. The course started and finished on the oval, guiding runners around Domeney Reserve and through the challenging 100 Acres section. Our 12/13 and 11-year-old competitors completed a 3km course (two laps), while the 9/10-year-olds tackled a 2km course (one lap).

This event also plays an important role in selecting our District Cross Country team, with the top 10 finishers in each age group earning the opportunity to represent the school. Congratulations to all students who achieved a top 10 placing, an outstanding effort!

A special mention to the following students who finished in the top 3 in their age groups:

I was incredibly impressed by the determination and resilience shown by all students throughout the day. Cross country is a demanding event, and it was wonderful to see students challenge themselves while also supporting and encouraging their peers.

Congratulations to Petty House, who claimed the overall win for 2026 with a strong team performance!

A big thank you to our Community House Captains for their assistance with the early morning set-up, as well as to our staff for their continued support. We are also very grateful to our parent volunteers who gave up their time to assist with walking groups, marshalling the course, and supporting at the finish line. Your contribution is greatly appreciated and helps make events like this possible.

Looking ahead, the Ringwood District Cross Country will be held on Tuesday 19th May at Quambee Reserve, commencing at 9:30am. Our P.O.P.S Cross Country team will begin training next week, with sessions on Tuesday at lunchtime and Thursday morning at 8:30am on the running track. Further information will be shared soon.
