From the Principal
May 7, 2026
The weather may have turned this week, but the school has been full of energy. We started with a vibrant assembly featuring our choir, a Year 5 science presentation on viscosity, and an update from our house captains on the School‑Wide Positive Behaviour Reward. Staff are now focusing on acknowledging good sportspersonship, inclusive behaviour and positive language in the yard.
We also celebrated two big events: the Year 3–6 Cross Country and the Foundation students’ first excursion to Chesterfield Farm.
HOUSE CROSS COUNTRY
The Year 3–6 House Cross Country is always a much‑loved event, with many students training hard in the leadup. Thank you to Mrs Carbone for organising such a well‑run and enjoyable day. It was wonderful to see students encouraging one another, especially those who pushed through challenges to finish the race, a true reflection of our school spirit. Thank you to our teachers, ES staff and parent volunteers for helping the day run so smoothly. A fantastic day for all, thank you, everyone!
OPEN CLASSROOM
Friday May 8, 8:45–9:45 am
Mothers and special people are warmly invited to visit their child/children’s classroom to engage in a shared activity. This year, instead of a breakfast, we are focusing on giving families more time together in the classroom.
The PA has kindly funded a coffee voucher for The Corner Cafe and a small gift for every mother/special person. These will be given out in the youngest child’s classroom. For more information, please visit the PA page.
ATTENDANCE ACKNOWLDGEMENT
Strong attendance helps students stay connected to their learning, their classmates, and the routines that set them up for success. Each day builds on the last, so regular attendance makes it easier to keep up and feel confident. While absences for illness are sometimes unavoidable, aiming to be at school every day gives students the best chance to thrive. Congratulations to 1A for having 98% attendance for the month of March.

PRINCIPAL CONFERENCE
Mrs Bullen and I will be away on Thursday and Friday attending the Manningham and Monash Principal Conference. In our absence, Mrs Quah and Mrs Debono will lead the school.
I would like to wish all mothers and the special people who play a nurturing and caring role in the lives of our children a very happy Mother’s Day.
Ms Garrity
