Junior School

Term 2 continues to be a busy time in Junior school with a number of school events and opportunities.
At year level assembly, our Year 7s were presented with awards for representing the school during primary school visits that occurred in term 1. They are recognised for discussing and displaying the school values to our future Year 7 cohort in a respectable manner. It also gave our students a welcome opportunity to visit their primary schools and reconnect with the teachers and friends that helped make their transition a positive success.
Our young people are juggling a number of class tasks and CATs alongside a range of school events and sporting opportunities. Please continue to check in regularly with your young person to help them to stay on top of their classroom learning. Due dates for CATs are visible in the Learning Tasks section of Compass.
Later next week our Year 7s will be part of the Anthology Launch. Students will hear from a guest presenter, as well as students showcased in the 2025 Anthology. Awards will be given to students across all year levels and our current Year 7s will get the opportunity to learn about Eltham High’s publication of written and artist works and hopefully get their work showcased in the future as well.
Next week, all Year 7s will take part in the House Cross Country Event during their Sport session on Monday May 18 in Period 2.
As a sub-school, we have been supporting our young people to develop healthy habits and routines. We have requested that students do not bring energy drinks onsite and reminded them that they are not permitted in the classroom.
In line with the Acceptable Use Agreement, we have been working to establish positive online interactions whilst at school. To support this learning at home, please have a conversation with your young person regarding online safety and the implications of social media. You may find the following eSafety guide helpful: esafety for parents.
A friendly reminder that while we have printers onsite for our students, our Year 7’s do not automatically have print credit. Students can take money to the General Office in order to get print credit. It will be beneficial for students to top up their accounts to best set themselves up for the term.
