Term 4 - Week 2
A message from the teachers
What a fantastic start we've had to Term 4! The energy in the classrooms has been buzzing as we dive into our new learning this term and as we head towards the big finish to the year, especially graduation for our Year 6’s.
This term, we're exploring an exciting and challenging new novel called 47 Degrees in our reading sessions. This text is designed to introduce and explore some challenging and confronting topics about the challenges that Australians face every year with bushfires. It's already sparked some great discussions, and students are showing excellent thinking as they unpack big ideas and deepen their comprehension skills.
Year 6 students are getting into the spirit of graduation, with lots of planning and preparation underway. One of the exciting initiatives is their icy pole fundraiser! Every afternoon after school, they’ll be selling icy poles at lunch to help raise funds for their graduation celebrations. There is a roster, with each year 6 student being on there once. Don’t forget to bring along a gold coin and support their efforts!
Also coming up is Bike Ed – a fun and important part of our PE program. It’s time to check those tyres, adjust your helmet, and get your bike ready! Bike Ed helps students build confidence and learn safe riding skills, and we’re all looking forward to getting on the move.
