What have we been up to?
Hello Grade 1 Families! We’re excited to be back for Term 4. We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday and are looking forward to our last term of the year.
In Writing, we have started reading Fantastic Mr Fox! The students are enjoying the story, and we are working on understanding and analysing the text. We talk about the characters, the setting, and what happens in the story. It’s helping everyone become better readers and thinkers.
During Maths, we have continued learning about data. The children are practising how to choose the right questions for surveys, which helps us collect useful information. We also started exploring location and maps. The students have been using written and verbal instructions to move around maps and change positions. It’s been a great way to learn about directions and places!
Next week, we have our excursion to the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens to learn about Indigenous culture. This will be a very fun and exciting day!
