From the Chaplaincy

Solomon, son of King David and heir to the throne, had big boots to fill. When his father died and kingship passed to him, he dropped upon his knees and admitted his own inadequacy. In an act of genuine humbleness, Solomon uttered some profound words, “Give me, O Lord, an understanding heart”.
These words were fundamental in acknowledging that there was an infinite, invisible Presence at his shoulder, a Power far greater than his kingship, a Power that had his back.
We can learn from Solomon’s example. This same Presence and Power is the Source of all harmony, wisdom, ingenuity, and fulfilment, and we can tap into this Source by understanding our true identity as children of God. Seen through a spiritual lens, staff and students, parents and children are equal, innately good, kind and intelligent. Recognising this can help us all achieve our unlimited potential.
The Huntingtower community has embraced ‘An Understanding Heart’ as the inspirational topic for 2026. So, as we journey through the learning, varied experiences and challenges both in and out of school, we shall endeavour to develop the understanding that enriches our lives and blesses those with whom we connect.
- The Chaplaincy Team wishes you all a happy and successful 2026
