Mr Cameron Bacholer
Vice Principal – Teaching and Learning,

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Cameron Bacholer as Vice Principal - Teaching and Learning (P–12). Cameron brings over two decades of experience in school leadership, including roles as Principal of Pulteney Grammar School, Deputy Principal at The Knox School and Director of Teaching and Learning at Peninsula Grammar. Most recently, he has served as a strategic consultant at Trinity College, South Australia and as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Adelaide University.
A values-driven and relational leader, Cameron has guided schools through major strategic transformations, curriculum reform and community growth. His leadership philosophy centres on empowering teachers and nurturing environments where both students and staff can thrive.
Cameron is currently completing a PhD in Education (Adelaide University) focused on teacher time and wellbeing. His qualifications include a Master of Business Administration and Master of Education (University of Melbourne), Bachelor of Arts (Honours in English Literature) and Bachelor of Teaching. He has also undertaken professional study at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Harvard Business School.
Cameron deeply resonates with Huntingtower’s values of kindness, respect and excellence and is passionate about holistic education that cultivates both character and achievement. We are thrilled to welcome his expertise, warmth and vision to our community
Ms Clare Mackie
Head of Senior School
School Executive team member
We warmly welcome Clare Mackie as our new Head of Senior School. Clare joins us from Haileybury, where she has been Head of English (Senior School) and previously Head of English (Middle School), leading large teams of teachers across multiple campuses, including Haileybury’s online school.
Prior to this, Clare spent nearly a decade at Kilvington Grammar School, teaching English, Literature and Humanities and serving as Debating and Public Speaking Coordinator and English Area Leader.
Clare is an accomplished educator and leader, recognised for her collaborative approach, strategic vision and commitment to student and staff wellbeing. She builds strong teams and drives improvement through evidence-based practice, and has led major initiatives in professional learning, curriculum reform and the innovative use of technology to strengthen connection between students and staff. Clare is also the creator of the podcast Teachers Talk Texts and a founding member of the Curriculum Writers Association Australia.
Clare holds a Master of Education (Student Wellbeing), a Master of Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours in English and History) from the University of Melbourne.
A reflective practitioner, Clare believes a connected community forms the foundation of outstanding teaching and learning. She is passionate about the transformative power of literature in helping students think critically and creatively and in empowering young people to effect positive change in the world.
We look forward to the energy, expertise and leadership Clare will bring to our Senior School community and to the positive impact she will have on our students and staff.
Robyn MacKinnon
Head of Food Technologies
Secondary Teacher – Food technology and VCE Food Studies
Robyn MacKinnon joins Huntingtower as Head of Food Technologies, bringing more than 25 years of experience across State, Catholic and Independent schools. Most recently at Mentone Girls’ Grammar, Robyn is passionate about practical, hands-on learning that builds student confidence and independence.
She brings extensive curriculum and leadership expertise across Food Studies and related subjects. We are delighted to welcome Robyn to our community.
Karen Goodwin
Head of French
Secondary Teacher – French, Mentor & PBL
We are pleased to welcome Karen Goodwin as Head of French. With international teaching experience across Asia and Australia, Karen brings global perspective and expertise in French, Spanish and EAL.
A collaborative and strengths-based educator, Karen is passionate about creating inclusive classrooms where students feel confident to participate and thrive. She holds a Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Melbourne.
Li Jian Newman
Secondary Teacher - Humanities and Business Management
We are delighted to welcome Huntingtower alumna Li Jian Newman, who joins us part-time teaching Commerce and Business Management. Li Jian brings international experience across IGCSE and IB programs in Vietnam and China.
A creative and student-centred educator, she is passionate about empowering young people through engaging, real-world learning. We are thrilled to welcome her back to the Huntingtower community.
Andrew Scott
Secondary Teacher – Accounting, Psychology & Economics and Mentor
Andrew Scott joins Huntingtower with extensive experience teaching VCE Accounting, Psychology and Economics. Most recently at Strathcona Girls Grammar, he also brings experience from several leading independent schools.
Andrew holds a Master of Education and is a VCAA assessor. He looks forward to contributing to both the academic and cocurricular life of the School.
James Wang
Junior School Teacher - Year 5
We warmly welcome Huntingtower alumnus James Wang to our Junior School team as a Year 5 teacher. James is passionate about inclusive education and differentiated teaching, supporting students to grow in confidence and independence.
Fluent in Mandarin and with a background in Communication Design, James brings creativity and strong community connection to his teaching.
George Gameras
Secondary Teacher – Physical Education & Health
George Gameras joins Huntingtower in Term 1 as a Physical Education and Health teacher. A recent Deakin graduate, George previously completed a teaching placement at Huntingtower and impressed staff with his enthusiasm and professionalism.
He is passionate about student wellbeing and looks forward to connecting with students through sport and cocurricular activities.
Carlie Eriksen
Junior School Teacher - Year 1
Carlie Eriksen joins our Junior School team in a part-time capacity supporting Year 1. With over 15 years of experience in primary education, Carlie is committed to creating structured, supportive classrooms that foster strong foundations in literacy and numeracy.
She brings particular expertise in early literacy and creative arts education.
Lisa Fairweather
Marketing and Communications Officer
Lisa Fairweather joins Huntingtower as our Marketing and Communications Officer. An experienced communications professional, Lisa brings expertise in strategic storytelling, design and community engagement, most recently from Emmaus College.
She will play an important role in strengthening how we share the Huntingtower story with our community.
