Every Day Counts

Going to school every day is the single most important part of your child’s education. Students learn new things at school every day – missing school puts them behind. 

School is better when your child is there

We all want our students to get a great education, and the building blocks for a great education begin with students coming to school each and every day.

If students miss school regularly, they miss out on learning the fundamental skills that will set them up for success in the later years of school.

There is no safe number of days for missing school – each day a student misses puts them behind, and can affect their educational outcomes.

Each missed day is associated with progressively lower achievement in numeracy, writing and reading.

Important: Daily School Schedule Information

In the interest of families, students, and effective classroom organisation, we ask that families please familiarise themselves with the information below.

Morning arrival routine

• 8:45am – Students may begin arriving at school
• 8:50am – Students may enter the classroom to prepare for the day
• 9:00am – The classroom roll is marked and formal instruction begins

Students arriving after 9:00am must report to the office to be signed in. Failure to do so may result in families receiving an incorrect absence notification.

Early collection from school

To minimise disruption to student learning, early collection is discouraged. Where early collection is unavoidable, we request that it occur only at the following times:

• 10:35am – Before Break 1
• 11:10am – At the conclusion of Break 1
• 12:45pm – Before Break 2
• 1:50pm – At the conclusion of Break 2

End of day collection

School concludes each day at 3:30pm. Teachers are on yard duty until 3:45pm, and all students are required to be collected by this time. If parents or guardians are unable to collect their child by 3:45pm, it is recommended that students be booked into TeamKids Out of School Hours Care.

School assemblies

School assemblies are held on Friday afternoons- refer to the Compass calendar. Please note that early collection is not possible during assemblies.
