Learning starts on time @ LPS
Learning starting on time at school sets a positive tone for the entire day and helps students build responsibility and good habits. When lessons begin promptly, teachers can maximise instructional time and keep students engaged without rushing. Arriving on time also reduces stress for students, allowing them to settle in and focus more effectively. Over time, punctuality at school supports academic success and prepares students for expectations beyond the classroom. Please see below for the bell structure and school expectations.
School Drop Off
Students are to arrive at school no earlier than 8.30am.
A phone call be made to home for any students who are on site before this time.
LPS Before Care program is available for parents to use.
Thriving@LPS
As we begin the new school year, we are excited to share the teaching and learning approach that guides our work at LPS. Our pedagogy is grounded in the belief that children learn best when they feel safe, connected and valued. Teachers design purposeful and engaging learning experiences that build strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, while also fostering curiosity, critical thinking and independence. We focus on building positive relationships, establishing clear routines and expectations, and supporting students to develop the learning behaviours needed for success. Through a balance of explicit teaching, inquiry, play, collaboration and reflection, we ensure learning is both meaningful and responsive to the needs of every child.
How we thrive
Thriving@LPS means that students are not just academically successful but also growing socially, emotionally, and personally, in an environment that values and reflects their cultural identities. It involves feeling confident, supported, and motivated to reach one's full potential. At LPS we recognise and celebrate diversity, provide equitable opportunities, and create safe spaces where all students can excel. A thriving student is engaged in learning – exploring their interests, setting goals, and developing important life skills. Thriving in this sense is about holistic success – where students flourish not just in academics, but as valued members of a diverse community.
