Year 7 - First Nations Incursion

As part of their 'Ancient Australia' unit, the year 7 cohort had the opportunity to workshop with Sean Moyle from Nairm Marr Djambana (Frankston Gathering Place). Students not only learnt about the innovative ways First Nations' people created and used tools and weapons but also had a go at the art of fire practices. The session ended in our bushtucker garden where students got introduced to the wide range of Indigenous plants, most edible, many with medicinal properties. The year 7s were respectful, curious and open minded, eager to learn about Australia's history and its people with the longest continuous living culture on Earth.
