Pedal Prix 2026: 

6 Hour Race Victoria Park

On Sunday 21 June, students from the Endeavour College Pedal Prix team came together for the first Pedal Prix race of the year, the six-hour race in Victoria Park! 

This race consisted of two teams, Clipper and Lil Ripper, swapping between riders to race in the bike for six hours straight. With many new riders, this led to a few tumbles along the way, but everyone adapted very quickly to the fast-paced nature of pedal prix and really pushed their fitness to the limits. I’m proud to say that both teams collaborated very well, clearly demonstrating teamwork within the swift pitstops and supporting their fellow teammates as they raced past.

Lil Ripper ended up racing 137 laps and travelled 185.6km, with Clipper trailing close behind with 118 laps and a travelled distance of 155.6km. The fastest lap of the day was Koen Greenham in Lil Ripper with 1 minute and 42 seconds! Next fastest lap was Connor MacLeod in Clipper with 1 minute 50 seconds. Overall Lil Ripper came 51st and Clipper came 74th out of the 109 school teams which is a very impressive achievement for our first race of the year. We’re now preparing for the upcoming race in Tailem Bend, the 8-hour race, which will push our teams even further.

Year 12 Canberra Study Tour

The Year 12 History Study Tour to Canberra from 6-9 July was a memorable and enriching experience that provided us with a deeper understanding of Australia’s history, government and national identity. Over four days, we visited a range of significant sites, including Parliament House, the Australian War Memorial, Government House and the High Court of Australia.

A highlight was exploring Parliament House, where we toured both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Sitting in these chambers and learning about Australia’s political system brought our civics studies to life. It was also a privilege to visit Government House and meet the Governor-General, Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC. Her Excellency generously gave her time to speak with us, providing an engaging insight into the role and responsibilities of the Governor-General. She kindly presented each member of the group with a signed pocket-sized book on the Australian Constitution and, to our delight, posed for a selfie with us, making the experience memorable indeed.

The Australian War Memorial was another powerful experience. The memorial offered us moving insights into Australia’s military history and the human cost of conflict. The recently expanded ANZAC Hall was especially impressive. A poignant moment occurred during the Last Post Ceremony, where two members of our group were honoured to lay a wreath on behalf of the Endeavour community.

We would like to acknowledge the Australian Government for encouraging young Australians to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist our families with the cost of the excursion, the Australian Government generously provided funding of $90 per student through the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER) program. This rebate is paid directly to the school following completion of the excursion.

Our sincere thanks go to Mr Thiele for organising the trip. His careful planning, dedication, and hard work made this valuable and rewarding experience possible. We also thank Ms Mulligan for accompanying the group and providing unwavering support and care throughout the tour. Finally, we extend our gratitude to Michael, our driver and guide, whose expert driving, insights, and infectious enthusiasm made our visit to Canberra both seamless and memorable.

Overall, the trip was both educational and inspiring, providing us with unforgettable moments, valuable insights and a greater appreciation of Australia’s democratic and historical institutions. We hope that future students will continue to benefit from such a rewarding opportunity.

Year 12 Transition Breakfast Inspires Future Pathways

Our Year 12 students recently had the opportunity to gain invaluable real-world insights at the annual Year 12 Transition Breakfast.

Sixteen Old Scholars, representing a diverse range of industries and career pathways, generously shared their experiences of life after secondary school. Through engaging conversations, students explored topics including further study, apprenticeships, career progression, workplace expectations, and the challenges and opportunities that come with transitioning into adulthood.

The informal breakfast setting encouraged meaningful discussion, allowing students to ask questions, seek advice, and learn from those who have successfully navigated the journey from school to the workforce.

We extend our sincere thanks to our Old Scholars for giving their time and sharing their stories. Their willingness to support the next generation provided our Year 12 students with valuable perspectives and confidence as they prepare for the exciting transition beyond school.

Year 12 Retreat

Following the Transition Breakfast last Wednesday, our Year 12 students travelled to Mylor for their final Retreat experience. 

Returning to the site of their Year 7 Camp, students were invited to reflect on their growth and formation as they prepare for life beyond Endeavour College. 

The Retreat aimed to consolidate friendships and belonging while exploring contemporary issues for young people through activities that encouraged students to look within themselves and to their faith. 

Guest presenters Jarrod and Bec were thoughtful and engaging as they navigated contemporary issues around respectful relationships, consent and empowerment, online addiction and how our students can be the best version of themselves. A highlight of these sessions was the opportunity to 

re-connect with their teachers from the Year 9 Voyage experience who helped facilitate the small group discussions. 

Alongside the more reflective content, students also had opportunities to simply have fun and enjoy each other’s company. Highlights included the student leaders’ quiz night, archery tag, high ropes challenges and the giant swing. 

Looking back at the retreat I realise how much I was able to bond with everyone and strengthen relationships with friends and even reflect on old relationships all while having fun everyday with the great activities.

Year 12 retreat was an amazing experience for all of us, a chance to reconnect, share memories, and strengthen the bonds we’ve built over the years. Returning to Mylor, where we first went in Year 7, felt like a huge milestone. Seeing how much we’ve grown since then made the whole experience even more meaningful. Overall, this retreat was a massive highlight for Year 12 and something we’ll carry with us long after graduation. Gabriella Perez and Lilly Kumela 

I feel like Year 12 retreat was a good bonding experience for our cohort, I think it really brought the year level together and strengthened friendships, which was really touching to see.

The final day of Retreat gave students an opportunity to reflect on their Endeavour Journey and how our values of Love, Courage, Forgiveness and Hope have guided their development. The impact of these personal and group reflections will be powerfully felt for years to come. 

For our Year 12 students, this final Retreat was more than a camp. It was a meaningful moment of connection, reflection and preparation as they look toward the final stages of their schooling journey. 

A huge thank you to the Ministry team, especially Youth Chaplain Andrea Campbell, and to all staff both on camp and behind the scenes for making this such a meaningful and memorable experience for our students.
