Building People with God: Construction 

When a builder lays a strong foundation, the work isn’t finished, it has only just begun. 

Throughout Term 2, our College community explored what it means to build our lives on a foundation of grace in Jesus. This term, our focus shifts to Construction. 

Now that the foundation is in place, we ask an important question: What kind of life are we building? 

Construction is rarely quick or easy. It takes patience, perseverance, skilled craftsmanship and a willingness to keep growing. In much the same way, God continues His work in each of us, shaping our character, our relationships and the way we serve others. 

As the Apostle Paul encourages us, 

“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion” (Philippians 1:6). 

Across chapels, classrooms and our wider College life, students will explore what it means to build lives of integrity, courage and compassion. We’ll reflect on the 'building materials' that help people flourish: love, forgiveness, kindness, self-control, wisdom and hope. We’ll consider the importance of healthy habits, supportive relationships, and using the gifts God has given each of us to strengthen those around us. 

The Bible reminds us that “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain” (Psalm 127:1). 

Our prayer is that every student would discover that lasting strength comes not from trying harder, but from allowing God to continue His work within them. As we remain deeply rooted in Christ, we become people who can stand firm through challenges and positively influence the communities around us. 

May this term be one in which we continue Building People with God,one conversation, one act of kindness and one faithful step at a time.
